Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book a photography session?

If you have decided on the genre and date of the photoshoot, the best thing to do is to contact me to find out if this date is available and open for booking. Sometimes it's possible to book a photoshoot for the following week if there are hours available for you, but there are months with higher booking rates, and you may need to book the photoshoot well in advance. So please specify the date you're interested in via message.

How to book a photoshoot?

You need to contact me via the contact form to agree on the date and time. We will conduct a consultation, discuss and agree on all the details of the photoshoot, and if everything suits both parties, you will need to make an advance payment of 25% of the photoshoot cost to confirm and reserve the date and time. This can be done through E-transfer, PayPal, or other methods.

Also, if we are booking a photo studio for our session, you will need to pay for the studio services and send me confirmation, or send me the cost of renting the studio (discussed during the consultation).

Please note that the 25% reservation amount and studio payment made by the client are non-refundable if the photoshoot is canceled by the client (due to illness, being late, changing their mind, or canceling the photoshoot).

How is the payment for the photoshoot made?

When booking a photoshoot, the client pays 25% of its cost as a confirmation of their reservation through E-transfer, PayPal, or other methods to the photographer. The remaining payment of 75% is made by the client on the day of the photoshoot upon its completion. This can be done through methods such as E-transfer, PayPal, or cash.

Please note that the 25% deposit, which is the reservation amount and studio payment made by the client, is non-refundable if the photoshoot is canceled by the client (due to illness, being late, changing their mind, or canceling the photoshoot).

Is my photoshoot confidential?

Photoshoots are not confidential, that is, private unless otherwise discussed. The photographer may publish images from sessions included in standard packages on their social networks, share on their website, and exhibit in photo exhibitions. The copyright of the photographs belongs to the photographer.
If you want the photos to remain confidential and be used only by you, this is available for an additional fee. The cost of such a service is +50% of the photoshoot price. Please discuss this with me during the consultation prior to the photoshoot.

How long does it take to receive our photos?

The delivery time for photographs depends on the duration of the photoshoot. Sessions that last 3-4 hours take longer to deliver than 1-hour sessions. Typically, the delivery time for an individual or family photoshoot is up to 20 days.
If you wish to receive the photographs sooner, this is also available. Such a service costs an additional +50% of the photoshoot fee.

What is retouching? Is it mandatory for photographs?

Retouching is the process of post-processing photographs. It involves detailed correction, usually focusing on more detailed work on a person's face and appearance in the photo. Retouching is often chosen for portrait photos to correct skin imperfections or lighting on the face, as well as the state of clothing or hair.

Retouching is more appropriate when the photoshoot is ordered by a client for a brand, website, or print. Retouching is not about changing the face; it's about correction. I strive to keep you looking like yourself in the photos, so I lean towards minimal retouching and maintaining a natural look in the photographs.

If you are satisfied with the photos after color correction, you may not need photo retouching. I leave the choice to you.

How many retouched photos will I receive after an individual photoshoot? Can we select the photos that will be edited?

An individual/portrait session or family session includes 40 styled and edited photos and 10 photographs with retouching. You have two options: You can either trust me to choose the photos for retouching or select them yourself.

Initially, you will be sent a link to download your non-retouched photos. After reviewing them, you can choose the number of photos specified in the package for retouching and send me the names of the photographs. I will then complete the retouching for you. The time frame for retouching 10 photographs is 7-10 days, depending on workload.

How many revisions to photo correction can I make?

Sometimes, a client may notice certain details they would like to adjust further in the photos. Each photoshoot package allows for up to 4 revisions. Simply send me a message, and we can discuss the changes.

You can also request slight changes in the color palette, such as making the tones warmer or cooler, or adjusting the lightness or darkness of the photo correction. It is best to discuss these preferences before the photoshoot, as it will influence how the photographer plans the session.

In what format will I receive the photographs?

The cost of each package includes receiving photographs via a cloud storage link, which will be available for download. The link is valid for 1 month. This time is usually sufficient for all participants of the photoshoot to download the photographs.If you would like to print the photographs, please let me know, and I can inform you about the cost.

Can I receive RAW photos? Unprocessed photos from the photoshoot?

Unfortunately, no, unprocessed photos are the property of the photographer. Such photos are not the finished result of the photographer's work and are considered raw material. Therefore, they belong solely to the photographer. If you have any questions regarding obtaining these photos, please contact me.
In some cases, it is possible to receive this material for an additional fee (if it is justified for the photographer).

Do you travel for shoots?

Yes, it is currently possible to book a photoshoot in Canada and Europe.Transportation within Toronto is included in the cost of the photoshoot, but if a client wishes to book a photoshoot in another city or country, the transportation costs are borne by the client. We can discuss this during the consultation, or you can write to me using the contact form, and we can talk about all the details.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

If for any reason you want to reschedule the photoshoot, you need to notify me no later than 7-10 days before the scheduled session. Or at the earliest opportunity, as soon as you decide to reschedule, so that we can choose a new date.If you want to reschedule or cancel a studio photoshoot 4 days before the session or later, usually photo studios do not refund the rental payment.
